Year 3 Enjoy A Journey Through East Africa
Just before half term, Year 3 were treated to a talk about Africa by visiting speaker James Wetz.
James shared photos from his journey through East Africa, detailing his travels through Kenya, Uganda and Rwanda.
The children were particularly impressed by his wildlife encounters: ‘I loved the pictures of the gorillas. It must have been an amazing experience being so close to those big animals!’ (Sebbie - 3DM).
After further discussions about the history and geography of the continent, James told the children about his work with a firm of architects in Bath who are supporting a group of schools in Uganda.
The children enjoyed having conversations about the similarities and differences between British and African primary schools.
Thank you to Mr Wetz for providing the children with a fascinating and insightful afternoon.
