Last week, Year 3 kicked off the New Year with their ‘Bright Sparks’ Science topic by thinking about everyday uses of electricity.

The children began their session by looking at examples of what tools were used before electricity became commonly used.

Year 3 made an imaginary circuit out of children, lighting up a torch, to simulate how electrical circuits work.

The class then used wires, cells and different components to build working circuits, which required some problem solving to figure out why the circuit did not always work.

The pupils thoroughly enjoyed the start of their new topic and had a lot of fun at the beginning of the Spring Term.
