Year 5 Girls’ Hockey Teams Show Determination At BIS Tournaments
On Wednesday, three Year 5 Girls’ Hockey teams were in action either at the Bath Independent School (BIS) Tournament hosted by Monkton or the BIS festival hosted by Kingswood Prep School.
The two tournaments made for a very busy afternoon, with a considerable amount of hockey being played by each of the girls’ teams.
The girls that travelled to Monkton had a very positive afternoon, and made great progress in their team structure and play as the tournament unfolded.
The girls looked the most accomplished side at moving the ball around the pitch well and were unlucky to suffer a few losses.
However, the team won more games that they lost, thanks to Esme who scored a couple of outstanding goals and Sofia for making some excellent saves in goal.
The remaining teams, led by Mrs Harding and Mrs Gibson, had a superb afternoon at the Prep School’s festival, again demonstrating just how much progress they have made with their play.
Both teams dominated all of their matches, leaving very little for our GK to do.
Players that showed stand out drive and determination included Poppy, Aine and Jamie, with Ava absolutely solid in defence.
Well done to all of the girls who took part.
