Senior Hockey Teams Compete Capably In A Host Of Fixtures
In the week leading up to half term, the Hockey Club took part in a number of mid-week fixtures.
The U16 XI competed in the Tier 3 County Tournament where they played a round robin against Clifton College, The Royal High and Backwell.
They won all three matches with Olivia working hard in midfield and Rose making some tackles in defence. The girls will go through to the school preliminaries on Thursday.
A highlight was the 3rd XI who played against the Monkton 2nd XI.
The girls started off strong with Elli scored the opening goal.
In the second half, Monkton came out determined and caught our defence off guard, enabling them to level the score.
However, Kingswood lifted their game with two goals from Ruth and Emily.
Jess scored the final goal to make the score 4-1, adding to her impressive tally of goals for the first half of term.
The Year 9 and 10s also played in their House matches demonstrating some superb hockey on show, which was matched with house spirit!
Summerhill won both the Year 9 and 10 competitions.
