Year 2 Visit Cardiff Castle For ‘Turrets And Tiaras’ Topic
On Wednesday, as part of their Autumn Term Topic ‘Turrets and Tiaras’, Year 2 travelled to Wales where they spent the day at Cardiff Castle.
The day began in the Education Centre where the children were greeted by Elizabeth who delivered an interesting talk about Cardiff Castle.
Throughout the day, the children learnt a number of fascinating facts about armour, helmets and weapons, whilst getting to see some of the weapons in action.
The children were given the opportunity to explore the castle and its beautiful grounds; this included a private tour around the castle, looking at a variety of spectacular rooms, including The Banquet Hall and The Arab Room.
Pupils and staff were amazed to see a suit of armour that weighed ten stone.
The pupils concluded their trip by walking up the Motte to The Keep and looking at the remains.
