Kingswood’s Swimmers Impress At Swimming Gala
Four teams travelled for Dorset on Saturday to complete against Sherborne, Taunton, Clayesmore, Blundell’s and Marlborough.
Several regular swimmers had other commitments, but despite this, the teams had a successful afternoon.
The U16 Girls’ team consisted of five girls from Years 7-10 and they were competing against a number of swimmers in Year 11.
Maisie, Abi and Connie all had 2nd place finishes and the Medley relay team came 2nd.
These results helped the team finish 2nd behind Taunton.
Year 9 Boys, Will C and Will W, were the pick of the U16 team and they did not look out of place competing against boys in Year 11.
Menina was the most successful of the Open Girls with a win in the B string breaststroke.
Nina, who was swimming up an age group, also recorded some good times and, overall, the Senior Girls finished in 3rd.
Lucas was the stand out swimmer at the whole gala with some very convincing wins in the IM and won the 50m fly with a personal best.
Ted, Tayo and Tom completed the Open Team, and acquitted themselves very well.
Overall, this team ended up in joint 3rd, just one point behind Marlborough.
The Swimming Club has announced Lucas as the Boys’ Captain and Emily as the Girls’ Captain.
