The Boys’ Hockey season concluded with arguably the toughest block fixture against Bristol Grammar School at the weekend.

It is a measure of the success of Kingswood’s teams this season that the School only lost three of the 12 fixtures.

This resulted in the 2nd XI, 4th XI, U14Bs and U12Bs all securing unbeaten seasons.

However, it was the U13As who also finished the season unbeaten that were named Team of the Week.

They beat a good Bristol Grammar side 4-2 and also secured victory in the Tier 1 Regional Finals at Millfield on Thursday.

They lose their first game narrowly to Dean Close but their form improved drastically, winning their next four games in which they scored 17 goals and conceded none.

This set up a semi-final with Exeter School which they drew 1-1 before progressing to the final after winning sudden death penalty flicks.

The final meant a chance to avenge the only defeat of the day against Dean Close.

The game started well as Kingswood reached half time a goal to the good.

However, Dean Close equalised to set up another penalty flicks competition.

Can saved the first Dean Close attempt and Charlie, Will and Joe were all successful wit their efforts.

It was an excellent achievement by the entire squad which now sees them also progress to the National Finals in May.
