Girls Visit The Somerset Earth Science Centre
March 5th 2019
A group of girls from Years 5 and 6 spent a day at the Somerset Earth Science Centre last Thursday, based at Moons Hill Quarry.
The girls spent their day creating limestone, examining obsidian, learning what a geologist does, having a fascinating tour of a working quarry and finished off by watching an explosion from up above the whole site.
The pupils asked some insightful questions and really showed their interest and enthusiasm for all things STEAM – it was fantastic to see them discovering what a job in the industry involves.
