Prep and Senior Orienteers Celebrate Strong Weekend
It was a strong weekend for Kingswood’s orienteers in the muddy and wet conditions at Leigh Woods in Bristol.
The Senior School orienteers, Lucy, Jim, Jamie, Wilfrid and Alberta, all scored maximum points by winning their classes.
Tobina, who competed solo for the first time, finished in second place as did Sebastian.
From the Prep School, James ran an excellent yellow course for the first time; taking first place and maximum points in Year 6, which also now puts him in first place overall in the league.
Alex won the 1.175m white course in an impressive 7.54 minutes, also giving him the maximum 100 points.
Freddie was hot on his heels just 25 seconds behind in 2nd place.
Hans had a good run and Theo completed the scorers, competing solo for the first time, making a few mistakes but recovering well to complete the course.
Charlotte, who had the speed to take first place, unfortunately missed out a control; however, she does retain her 2nd place in the league.
With only four scorers, Kingswood lost by a 100 points to Redmaids High School and will need to have a good turnout at future events if they are to retain their 1st place in the league.
