Prep Trips and Visits

On Thursday 17 January, Year 1 visited the Bristol Aerospace Museum to learn about the history of flight.

The day began with a workshop about what materials could be used to make a plane and how the first planes were built.

The pupils were able to get hands-on and sort materials, test if they were waterproof and decide what would be suitable for building a plane with.

Year 1 also had the chance to walk around a real Concorde.

The children were given the opportunity to walk underneath the aircraft and see how the wheels and engines worked.

There was just enough time to walk around and see all the different planes, helicopters and cars that the museum had on display, ranging from some of the first planes ever built to modern-day fighter jets.
