Languages Monitors Host Competition For Prep School Pupils
The Year 6 Languages Monitors invited Prep School pupils to take on an exciting language competition on Tuesday.
The pupils challenged one another to remember how to say ‘Hello’ in several languages, including Chinese, Italian and Polish.
The children were asked to choose from a list of selected languages displayed on posters around the school.
Year 3 and Year 4 participants were asked to remember 10 translations, while Year 5 and Year 6 were asked to remember 20.
The competition sparked some real interest, inspiring the children to communicate with one another in various languages at lunch time.
The children demonstrated enthusiasm and knowledge when coming up with helpful ways to remember the translations.
After judging and deliberations, the Languages Monitors announced the winners.
James was the winner from the Year 3 and Year 4 category, with Lexi victorious in Year 5 and Year 6.
Mrs Turner congratulated all the children who took part and to the monitors, Jack, Carlota and Sofia, for planning and organising the event.
