Year 1 Find The Gruffalo At Westonbirt

At the end of last term, Year 1 pupils went in search of the famous Gruffalo statue at Westonbirt Arboretum.

The children spent the day learning about the different types of trees and seeds, and found enormous leaves and seed pods from a Magnolia tree.

Pupils also discovered some important facts about woodland animals, such as moles having their own worm larder in their homes.

Having enjoyed their picnic lunch, the children succeeded in tracking down the Gruffalo and his friends and spent the afternoon posing for photos.
