Before half term, a number of Year 10 Drama pupils performed their devised assessments and a further two will be performed next Wednesday.

The performances, which are worth a percentage of their final GCSE mark, challenged a number of topical and complex issues.

The evening started with a piece by Poppy, Beth, Tiva and Emma who challenged gender stereotypes in their performance which was entitled ‘Perfect’.

Toby, Ben and Niamh confronted conflicted opinions towards assisted suicide in their piece ‘You’re the Jury, You Decide’.

Then, Jude designed the sound for Tati, Evelyn, Phoebe and April’s performance of ‘Perspective’ which examined three different sides of bullying.

Other performances explored the daily challenges of being a teenager and another encouraged the audience to look beyond the masks which people wear.

Whether the pieces moved the audience or made them laugh, they were all highly creative, engaging pieces of drama.

The audience also helped raise more than £100 for The Genesis Trust and Bath Child Contact Centre.

Two more performances will take place in the Theatre on Wednesday 13 June at 6.00pm.
