Outstanding Evening Of Music At Green Park Station

On Friday night, Kingswood descended upon Green Park Station for one of the biggest nights in the School’s calendar.

An annual fixture in the Bath Festival, this year’s concert at Green Park Station was part of the ‘Party in the City’, marking the midpoint of the city-wide festivities.

The Kingswood community arrived for the start of the concert and created an electric atmosphere with Kingswood Jazz Orchestra kicking the event off with an energetic performance of ‘You Can’t Stop The Beat’.

KJO’s brilliant performance drew people in off the streets as some of the School’s soloists took to the stage.

The house pro band provided effortless, smooth jazz sounds to accompany the School’s fine singers. All styles and genres were on offer from Frank Sinatra and Ella Fitzgerald to Amy Winehouse and Whitney Houston.

KJO then returned to the stage for their second set and they somehow managed to top their first performance. The final group of soloists then performed and the audience grew further with everyone singing and dancing on the station floor.

For the final number, the School’s singers and KJO returned to the stage to perform an electric performance of YMCA. Their performance was greeted by rapturous applause and cheers from the audience.

The atmosphere throughout was energetic, fun and supportive, and everyone involved did themselves and the School proud.
