Year 2 Enjoy Visit to Waterways Museum

To support their topic, ‘Tales of the Riverbank’, Year 2 visited Gloucester Waterways museum this week.
They took a boat ride on the canal, spotting different types of bridges that opened up to let the boat through, and saw lots of beautifully decorated narrow boats.
In the afternoon, there was an opportunity to make a detective booklet and explore the museum to learn about the history of canals. The children also took part in a workshop in which they gradually built a canal and towpath using sand, water and wooden models.
