Boys’ Hockey Teams Show Great Determination And Organisation
Last Monday, four hockey teams from Year 4 took part against King Edward’s in a home game that they were determined to make the most of.
The teams gave plenty of effort when in possession of the ball and generally tried to move the ball quickly.
Mr Ward was particularly pleased with the determination showed by his team, with Fred leading the way.
The boys showed their ability to find space on the pitch and make quick decisions in difficult situations.
On Wednesday, the U11 boys’ hockey team faced a challenge in strong, opposition teams in Colston’s and Heywood.
The team were slow to get going but certainly showed a determined attitude and got back into the game with more physicality and technical ability.
Charlie grew into each game and showed tenacity in the tackle and a greater understanding of the positions on the pitch he needed to be in and Jack moved the ball quickly and with accuracy.
On the middle pitch, physical effort certainly wasn’t lacking as the team passed and moved their way into good positions.
Daniel took up some good scoring positions, Rowan worked tirelessly down the left hand side of the pitch and Tom showed great stick skills in the D to create goal-scoring opportunities.
