Prep School Fees and Finance

Term fees for the 2024/25 academic year

Following the Government’s confirmation that an additional 20% VAT will be charged on Independent School fees from January 2025, Kingswood fees, inclusive of VAT, will increase by 14%, with effect from January, for the remainder of this academic year. 

Our intention is to communicate any fee increase for September 2025 earlier than usual: we expect this to be by mid February 2025. 

The annual fee is payable in three equal instalments and is due by the first day of each term or by monthly instalments with the prior agreement of the Director of Finance. The School Governors review fees annually, and will minimise fee increases where possible. Parents are normally advised of fee increases prior to the beginning of the summer term.

The fees cover all the teaching that takes place in the ordinary course of education. Parents should anticipate additional charges associated for some co-curricular activities, educational trips and specifically the cost of Learning Support and English as an Additional Language lessons where applicable. The school day includes free Early Club from 8.00am and Late Care until 5.30pm.

Payment Plans

Kingswood School offers a monthly payment plan via a third party called School Fee Plan. Please click here if you would like to apply for this method of payment, or contact the Finance team if you would like further details. 

Kingswood School is an appointed representative of Premium Credit Limited which is authorised and registered by the Financial Conduct Authority (FRNB: 702718).  'School Fee Plan' is a trading style of Premium Credit Limited. 

Registration Fee & Acceptance Deposit

A non-returnable registration fee payment is due on application for a place. This fee is currently £125 and from January 2025, this registration fee will be £142.50 (inc. VAT). An acceptance deposit is then required for all nursery and prep school pupils.

All forms must be returned and the registration fee and deposit paid before settling in sessions can start. Deposits will be transferred to the Senior School for those in receipt of an offer of a place in Year 7.

The repayment of deposits is linked to the settlement of final fee invoices upon the departure of the pupil from Kingswood Prep School.

Wrap-around care from 8.00am until 5:30pm 

Day pupil fees include extended wrap-around care as part of the school day. This includes early drop off at 8.00am and the opportunity for your child to stay after lessons finish and take part in a wide range of clubs and activities until 5.30pm.

Meals & Snacks

A two course hot lunch is included. Fruit, healthy snacks and water are provided at break time and at the end of lessons for children staying for clubs. 

Co-curricular Clubs

We offer a rich and diverse programme of clubs which parents can book their children into online before the start of each term. There is a mix of chargeable and non-chargeable clubs. Any fee due is clearly indicated at the time of booking. 

Extra tuition

One on one tuition for Special Educational Needs or English as an additional Language may be provided if required, and will generally be charged at a rate of £29 for a 40 minute lesson. From January 2025, this will be charged at £33.06.

We offer music tuition in a wide range of instruments. Music lessons can be arranged by contacting our Head of Music and your billing arrangement will be directly with the peripatetic teacher.

• Doodle Maths & English (Reception - Year 6): £12 per year

Notice of Withdrawal

In accordance with the School’s terms and conditions, a full term’s notice must be given in writing if you wish to withdraw your child from the School, or if you wish to change your child’s status at the School from one type of boarding to another (day, weekly or full boarding). Failing such notice, a full term’s fees will be charged.
